For Schools

Your students don't stop needing support when school gets out.

Cartwheel is available for your students and families throughout the summer.

You know your students best. As you wrap up the year, please take some time to consider which students might benefit from support over the summer and refer them for care now.

Supporting Students Over the Summer: A Practical Guide for School Teams

Summer can be hard for certain students. Here are some examples of students who could benefit from continued support:
  • Students who made progress late in the year—students who just began engaging in counseling or started building coping skills
  • Students who rely on school for structure and connection—students with anxiety, school avoidance, or limited peer support outside of school
  • Students who are on waitlists or without access to care—families who have tried to get support but haven't been able to connect yet
  • Students facing a transition year—rising 6th, 9th, or 11th/12th graders navigating new pressures in the fall

How to Connect Students to Summer Care

One of the biggest barriers we see is timing. By the time summer arrives, it’s often harder for families to get connected. Referring in the spring can make the process smoother and increase the likelihood that students receive support when it’s most helpful.
‍
There are two ways to get students connected to care:

Refer a Student

Refer a student directly here—or reach out to a student support staff member to make the referral.

Share the Family Interest Form

Families can reach out directly for support here—every submission is reviewed and approved before anyone is connected to care.
