Cartwheel, the nation’s leading provider of school-based telehealth services, has been named an approved vendor by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) under eRFI 41400-DOE0000094 for Student Mental Telehealth Services.
This designation confirms Cartwheel as an approved partner that districts can select when using their $20,000 per-school grants. As a trusted student support platform and service delivery partner, Cartwheel will help schools in Georgia provide mental health services directly to students and families in grades 6–12.
GaDOE’s RFI demanded capabilities that Cartwheel provides such as direct mental health services delivered via school-based telehealth; evidence-based care; summer and break availability; and support for multilingual students and families. This means that all of Georgia's public middle and high schools—including charter schools—now have access to Cartwheel's direct mental health student services including 1:1 therapy, parent guidance, psychiatry, and family therapy.
“Georgia students deserve timely, high-quality mental health care they can rely on,” said Dr. Juliana Chen, Cartwheel’s Chief Medical Officer. “Whether it’s anxiety, depression, or school avoidance, having no-waitlist access means students get the support they need, when they need it—before challenges turn into lost learning opportunities, chronic absenteeism, or more significant mental health concerns.”
Selected by the Georgia DOE as a trusted clinical partner, Cartwheel offers 1:1 therapy, parent guidance, family therapy, and psychiatry. We can provide care in multiple languages and serve 300+ districts across the U.S., with 75% of students demonstrating clinical improvement (in anxiety and depression).
With 1 in 5 Georgia students chronically absent, our evidence-based specialized program combines weekly therapy, parent guidance, and coordinated school collaboration to help kids get back on track. Our shared portal tracks real-time student progress updates.
Students and families can connect with a Georgia-licensed Cartwheel therapist within 1 week of a referral. We work with all insurance providers, accept Medicaid coverage, and have a financial aid fund to support students who are uninsured or underinsured.
Our Georgia-licensed clinical team integrates seamlessly with district systems and student support teams.
